Case Manager & Interpreter
Nilofar was born in Taiz, Yemen where she lived for 21 years and received a bachelors degree in English literature in1997. She has worked teaching English as a second language, interpreting and providing case management.
After marrying her husband, they moved to Dubai, UAE and lived there for 15 years before moving to Turkey as refugees, gratefully gaining entrance the United States in 2014.
Nilofar joined THRIVE as a part time interpreter and case aide a couple years later. She is now a full time case manager at THRIVE. Nilofar's father is from Azerbaijan and speaks Turkish, while her mother is from India and speaks Hindi. As a result, she is fluent in Turkish, Hindi, Arabic Farsi and English.
She loves being around people from different cultures and ethnicities because she believes in the concept of "Unity in Diversity." Nilofar's favorite quote is "Earth is but one country and mankind its citizens" and her lived experience of this philosophy is of great value to THRIVE. She is thrilled to be able to serve THRIVE clients with any case management needs they may have.
